| Brief Description |
A walk on undulating terrain over part of the Rossendale Way and including two reservoirs (Ogden and Calf Hey), a disused quarry and the interesting deserted village in the Grane Valley; families left the valley when the best farmland was appropriated to build the reservoirs; they had supplemented their incomes by handloom weaving. It is remarkable that so much of the stone buildings have survived for 150 years. Some good paths, some non-existent. One short but steep ascent. This is a MODERATE+ walk. |
